" Lar?" it said, surprised when it noticed my staring at it.

I got down on my hands and knees so that I wouldn’t frighten it away.

" Hey little guy." I whispered and slowly got another sandwich out of my backpack, the rock/ ground pokemon watching my every move. I freed it of its cellophane wrapping and broke it in half, handing one half to the Larvatar. It looked at the half then back up at me. It cautiously walked forward and took it. It then sniffed it then bit into it. After a few moments it smiled and took another bite.

" See? I won’t hurt you." I said and saw Pichu climb down from his tree and come over, his interest having been caught by the arrival of this new pokemon.

" Pi? Pichu pi pichu!" Pichu said, smiling brightly at the pokemon. Larvatar also smiled.

" Lar larvatar lar lar!" it replied.

" Well Larvatar we have to go now. Bye!" I said and stood up, Pichu climbing up my arm onto my shoulder. I gathered up our things and walked away. But when I was down the path I heard something following me. I turned to see the Larvatar.

" No Larvatar. We have to go now." I said and kept walking. I walked for a while before I spotted a green shape in the bushes.

" Larvatar! You can’t follow us!" I say and pull the bushes aside to see, no Laravtar, but a net like thing.

It launched at us and we both go caught in it, the net being pulled up into a tree.

" Pichu! Try and chew through this net!" I told him and he nodded, gnawing on part of the net with his sharp, fang like teeth, but to no avail. Suddenly laughing came to my ears.

" Gotcha! Now we’ll have that pichu!" a female voice said.

" Yeah, then we’ll get a huge raise form the boss!" another female voice said. Two women came out of the bushes. They both had on short black skirts with yellow shirts. The shirts had a black lighting bolt in the middle. They wore white gloves and boots.

The first woman had long purple hair and blue eyes. The other had light blue hair and purple eyes. They both wore the same uniform.

" Let go of us!" I yelled angrily at them, thrashing around in the net.

" Fat chance kid!" the purple haired woman, said, smirking.

" Yeah, we’ll let you go, once we have that Pichu!" the blue haired one said, laughing.

" Who are you anyway?" I asked, still trying to get out of the net.

" Trisha." The blue haired woman said, posing.

" Tammy." The purple haired one said, also posing with the blue haired woman.

" Now then, we’ll have that Pichu!" Trisha said

" No way I’m letting that happen! Pichu use your Thundershock!" I ordered and Pichu nodded, determined to get us out of there.

" Piiiiiichuuuuuuuuu!" he cried as volts of yellow lightning shot out of his pink cheeks. But when the currents hit the net they diffused and Pichu was left hurt from shocking itself by accident.

Tammy and Trisha laughed in very high pitched, annoying voices.

" You can’t get out of there that way. The net is electricity proof." Tammy said smirking. But her smirk faded when suddenly a blade of silver energy cut through the net and pichu and I landed on our feet. We both looked to our left to see the small green pokemon that we had met earlier

" Larvatar!" I exclaimed and it ran up to stand beside me, facing Tammy and Trisha, a determined look on its face.

" You want to fight them Larvatar?" I asked and it nodded quickly. " Okay then, Larvatar use Rock Throw!"

Larvatar raised its arms to its side and shined silver. Huge chucks of rock were lifted up from the ground. It pointed towards Tammy and Trisha and the rocks flew at them. They got blasted back, landing hard on the ground.

" Oww! That hurt! Your mean!" Trisha whined.

" No, you’re the mean ones. You tired to steal my pokemon. So for that, Pichu, Thunder!" I commanded. Pichu ran infront of me, stood up and let loose a huge bolt of electricity. It zapped Tammy and Trisha, sending them flying into the sky.

" Well that was shocking!" Tammy said.

" Why does this always happen to use!?" Trisha cried.

" Looks like were flying off again!" I heard them both yell as they flew off into the distance.

" Good job guys! Especially you, Larvatar. Without you we never could have escaped." I said, bending down to pet I on the head.

" Lar larvatar!" it said, smiling brightly. It was clearly very proud of itself.

" Hey! I’ve got an idea! How about you come along with us Larvatar? You know, as a part of the team?" I asked, the idea suddenly popping up in my head. It’s entire face brightened up like a light bulb that had just been turned on.

It jumped into him arms, the resulting in me falling to the ground with the force of its’ tiny body.

" Well, okay then." I said, laughing as I held our new partner in my arms, as he looked brightly up at me.

" Pichu pi pi Chu Chu." Pichu said, and from what I had gathered, it was welcoming Larvatar to the team.

" Yeah. And there’s an open stop up here for you." I said, gesturing towards my free shoulder. Larvatar, eyes bright with happiness hopped up on the perch, saying hello to pichu.

" Well then, lets get going. We’ve got a long was to go before we hit our first gym." I said, referring to the town of Rosara, with the Rosara grass pokemon gym. Also, the town famous for it’s herbal remedy shops and flower fields that strewn the city. Its siad that Rosara city is the most beautiful town in all of the Crohen reigon especially after it rained. Anyone who vistis there after a good rain is said to never want to leave.

So we set off again for Rosara, about 30 more miles to cover before we hit it. By my guess, it would take us about two days to reach it if we took breaks.

So about three hours later, the sun setting as we traveled the dirt path, fields of flowers flanking us on the right and grass meadows and fields to the left.

" Well we’d better find a place..." I started to say but a huge boom of thunder interrupted me " to settle down for the night other then here."

We started to run down the road as the wind picked up and a steady rain began to fall. Soon we came upon a small cabin in the middle of the grass field. I ran up to the door just as the ran began to fall hard and knocked on it.

" Hello? Hello is anyone there?" I called while the rain worsened and we got even wetter. Larvatar and pichu had grabbed a side of my long hair and were using it as umbreallas.

" Hang on a minute!" I female voice called from inside.

A young woman opened the door. She had long pink hair done in pigtails that hung down and the rest was straight. She had bright blue eyes and had on a pair of dark blue jeans, and a white shirt under a pink jacket.

" Oh my! Your soaking wet, please come in, come in!" she said and usered us inot the hourse. Pichu and Larvatar jumped down from my shoudlers and shook themselves off, spraying water everywhere.

" Thank you ma’am. We’d have been in that rain for hours if you didn’t live all the way out here." I said, taking the towel she offered me and tried to dry off my hair.

" Yes well, I have a good reason to live out here. My name is Camila and I grown the plants and herbs used to make various types of powders." She said " And this is my Meganium." A Meganuim came up behind her, saying hello to Pichu and Larvatar.

" You mean you make stuff like Bright Poweder?" I asked, wondering how it was that she made the stuff.

" Yes. I grow the plants to make Bright Powder, among others with Meganiniums help of course." Camila said smiling as she watched Meganinium giving rides to Pichu and Larvatar on his back.

" That’s must be a fun job to have." I said, and watched the pokemon play with eachother as she offered me a seat at the kitchen tabel as started to make stew and a warm drink for us.

" Yes, it usually is but latley a group of wild Weedle and Paris have been eating all my plants so I can’t make any powder. And if I can’t make any powder then I can’t sell it to the Poke’Marts all around the Crohen reigon." She explained as she set the tabel for the two of us and put the pot and a pitcher of some type of juice in the middle of the tabel. We served ourselves and began eating as I got out the pokemon food to Pichu and Larvatar. Camila got out food for Meganinum and the pokemon began to eat as well.

" Well mabey we can help you out. Mabey we can convince the Paris and Weedle to leave your plants alone you know?" I offered.

" Oh but you don’t have to do that!" she said but I held up my hand to silence her.

" None scence, we’re helping you out and that’s final." I said in a serious tone but then smiled at her and laughted.

We spent the night in Camilias house in the spare bedroom she had while the storm radged on outside the windows. The next morning I offered to cook breakfast since she had made the meal the previous night. I made us breakfast and Camilia did the coffe ( since she insisted that she should help out somehow). After breakfast we went outside and sat on her porch and the pokemon played in the yard to discuss the bug pokemon issue.

" Well mabey we could put a fence around your garden so they can’t get in." I suggested.

" I’ve already tried that but they ither chew their way through it or climb right over it. I tried putting some chicken wire around the outsdie and making it higher but they climbed the fence anyway! I even tried bug pokemon repelent bur they got through it." Camila explained.

So we spent a while in silence, trying to come up woth a solution before it hit me.

" I’ve got it! How about you plant a seprate garden that the bug pokemon can chew the heck out of. You can have a garden for them and a garden that you use for the powder you make. Plus you won’t have to take care of it because the bug pokemon being there will take care of it!" I said and Camila seemed to think the idea over for a moment before agreeing to it.

So we set to work with her Meganium to plant the new garden in her front yard. We replaced the chicken wire around the old one and we built a miniature fence around it.

Soon we were finished the project and Meganium was breathing on the new garden to get it to grow much faster.

" Well all done. Thanks for all your help Jessica." Camila said as she handed me a glass of lemonade that she had made.

" Well, we’re done with that part but we still have to convince the pokemon to eat the new one instead of the old one." I said.

" Oh, I’ve got it! Maganinium, use your Sweet Scent on the new garden please!" Camila said and Meganinum breathed pink smoke onto the new garden. Suddenly pichu and Larvatar sniffed the air and ran up to Meganinum and started to smell the garden with a dreamy look on their faces.

" Oh, I get it! Sweet Scent makes the garden smell good to the pokemon so they’ll be atractted to it, right?" I asked and Camila nodded.

" That’s right, so all the Weedle and Paris will be atractted to the new garden instead of the old one and eat from the new one." Camila said and smiled as Larvatar and Pichu gave a dreamy sigh as they smelled the garden.

" Yeah and with that Sweet Scent atttack set up they’ll run right to it." I said.

A few days later my prediction was proven correct. The next time the pack of Weedle and Paris they went straight for the newly gorwn garden instead of the older one. That day we left Camilas house.

" Thank you for all you’ve done Jessica. Heres a gift to show my apreationance." Camila said and took a small bottle of yellow powder.

" This is Lightning Powder. It raises the attack power of electric type moves." She explained.

" Thanks. We can really use this huh Pichu?" I asked him as I put the bottle in a small pocket of my pack.

" Pichu pi!" he said and jumped onto my left shoulder and Larvatar jumped onto my right.

" Thanks for the powder Camila." I said

" No, thank you for all your help. Now just follow this trail here all the way to Rosara. You should be near it when you start seeing lots of flower fields." Camila said and pointed down a dirt path.

" Yeah, thank you for letting us in!" I called back as I waved and walked away.

" If you ever need a place to stay you can always come here!" she called to me as her and Meganinum waved goodbye to us.

" Goodbye Camila! I’ll be taking you up on the offer sometime I’m sure!" I called back as I and my pokemon waved goodbye to our new friends.

" Now the, what say we go win our first gym battle? How about it guys?" I asked the pokemon.

" Pichu pi!" Pichu said exitedly

" Lar Larvatar!" Larvatar said, as much excitement in his voice as Pichus.

So off the road down the road we went, away from Camilas' home and friendship and into our destiny as pokemon and trainer.
